Journey Beyond is a dynamic soundtrack engine for tabletop role-playing. It listens to your narration in real time and scores each scene with curated music—so you can focus on the story, not playlists. Create an account and start a session to begin a 3-day free trial — no credit card required. After the trial, it’s $11.99/month if you choose to continue; if you don’t add a card, your access simply pauses automatically.

A desktop or laptop with a microphone, a modern browser, and an internet connection. Any built-in or USB mic works—aim it toward the DM. Bluetooth speakers and mics work too; for best results, keep the speaker a bit farther from the mic to reduce bleed/echo.

1. Open the app and allow microphone access.
2. Choose your musical theme — this starts the session.
3. Press the record button and narrate normally; no special commands.
4. As you speak the music will pick up on your narrative and adjust the music naturally to fit the moment.

Yes. Run Journey Beyond in your browser and share the tab’s audio to your Discord voice channel so everyone hears the music. Quick steps:

1. Open Journey Beyond in Chrome or Edge and start a session.
2. In Discord, join your group’s voice channel and click Screen → select the browser tab running Journey Beyond.
3. Toggle Sound on, then click Go Live.
4. Control volume with Journey Beyond’s slider; players can adjust your stream volume individually in Discord.

Independent composers. Tracks are licensed for use inside Journey Beyond, and we highlight artists whenever possible.

You can play music through Journey Beyond during sessions. For using specific tracks in recorded or monetized content, check the composer’s license terms or contact us.

We store basic account info and session metadata. We keep transcripts to power features like scene tagging and session history. If you delete your account, we anonymize any saved transcripts by removing personal identifiers and permanently unlinking them from your account.

No. Audio is processed in real time to generate a live transcript, which is used to select music. We do not store or record audio, just the transcript text.
